Even I don't know why I bothered to save these snippets. I think I am nostalgic about my website. So this page serves as an archive, a dumping ground if you prefer, for my old news.
Here goes!
The future turns to present, and present turns to past; this all happens without our even realizing how quickly it happens. Here are a few of the present moments which turned to past right before my eyes.
July, 2000. "Pumpkin" is finally here! It's a Girl!Clara Marisa is her name, she was born weighing 7 pounds and 2 ounces and measured 19 inches long. Her birthday is July 11, and she was born at 8:11 PM at Chestnut Hill Hospital, in Philadelphia, PA, after 32 hours of unmedicated labor. The photo of her below was taken moments after she was born.
Until 6/19/00, we also counted Dolson, 17 year old Russian exchange student who thought of me as "Mom" in our household. Dolson is back in Russia now, planning to spend some time living in Moscow with her cousins. She'll be attending art school in the US in the Fall of 2001. We are very proud of her accomplishments in her year here in the US.
Was out of town this past March (2000)... back to an old favorite spot: St. Croix, U.S.V.I.! Can't wait, especially since good old Punxatawny (sp?) Phil saw his shadow!
In March, 1999, David and I visited my brother, his wife, and their two beautiful daughters, Felicity and Joy. Shortly after that, we flew off to Vieques, Puerto Rico for snorkeling, swimming and beach-bumming under palm trees.
On the 16th of September, 1998, my niece Joy Elise Chaplin was born
to my brother John and his wife Jane.
In July 1998, David and I flew to Toronto, Canada where we began our 12 day honeymoon/summer vacation. We zoomed around the province of Ontario in our lovely Toyota Corolla rent-a-car from Thrifty, attended 8 plays at the Stratford Festival and the Shaw Festival, gazed upon the wonder that is Niagara Falls, gawked at the horror that is Clifton Hill and generally had a wonderful time.
On 6/21/98 David Loebell and I were wed and we remain in that state to this very day.
On May 23, 1998, David graduated from Bard College with a B.A. in Trans-Educational Distance Learning for Generation X. For students seeking this path, I can only say, the way is long; the steps, steep; the beer, on sale at BevWay.
And, for a while I had this on my index page. I'm tired of it though, so it's going here, my dear dumpling!
Two years ago, I finished my Ed.M. in School Psychology. I still love children, and I might like to work with them someday. Before I came to Temple's Computer Services, I used to work for peanuts at a daycare center where I taught sweet 1-year-old children to use their spoons, play nice, and share. Those kids were my best friends for my first year of grad school. They are all much bigger now and don't remember me, but I will always remember them.
Some of you have asked me to post a picture of myself as a baby, so you can compare it to Clara's picture. Well, here it is. I was about 4 months old in this picture. Compare it to this picture of Clara with her googly-eyed froggy, on the right.

Some people say that personal web pages are nothing more than
self-indulgent vanity sheets. This may be true, but I bet you'll enjoy
looking at my cute pictures!
Until next time, Don't forget to recycle and floss!
New pics are being added...
An early picture of my family:
And yes, you do have to click on the pen to write. I believe
in doing things the old fashioned way.
And don't ask me, "what's a pen?"
